Your IDs and credentials securely united in one app

With the "eAusweise" app, you can now present digital IDs and credentials simply, securely and digitally on your smartphone. Share your details simply at the touch of a button and contactless. "eAusweise" is constantly being expanded to include further credentials.
  • You present your digital credentials in the form of QR codes that are valid for a short time. The other person scans this QR code and can examine the necessary data on their own device.
  • In the app "eAusweise" you do not need a new user account, but identify yourself with your ID Austria. This offers secure two-factor authentication for digital services with the help of the "ID Austria" app.
  • Please note that you can currently use the "eAusweise" app as valid proof to the authorities only within Austria.

The digital driving licence

  • You do not need an active internet connection during a traffic check. 
  • When presenting the digital driving licence to private individuals, the data of the QR code is transmitted via Bluetooth. The other person can use the apps "eAusweise" or "eAusweis Check" for verification. 
  • You can also present the digital driving licence together with your digital registration certificate during a traffic check.

  • A valid Austrian cheque card driving licence is required to use the digital driving licence.

The digital registration certificate

  • Can be used as part of a traffic check together with the digital driving licence or without it.
  • The digital registration certificate can also be used within the framework of registration pools.
  • Presentation of registration data to private individuals is possible.
  • The prerequisite for using the digital registration certificate is that the licence was issued in Austria.

Forwarding registration data

  • Forward your registration data to other people.
  • The duration of forwarding can be chosen flexibly.
  • Forwarded registration data is automatically removed from the recipient's device as soon as the forwarding period has expired.
  • Registration data can of course be used by the registration owner without restriction during the forwarding period.
  • Registration data can also be made available to several people at the same time.

Digital proof of identity

  • Can be used within Austria as proof of identity for the authorities and third parties.
  • Third parties can use either the "eAusweise" or "eAusweis Check" app to check a person's identity.
  • Only absolutely necessary data (first name, surname, date of birth and photograph) will be transferred.

The digital proof of age

  • With the proof of age you can show your age eligibility within Austria. For maximum protection of your data, the verifying person will only see your photo, the time of the last update and whether you have reached the required age. Your name and date of birth remain anonymous. 
  • You can create a QR code via the "Prove age" function. The person checking selects the age eligibility they want to check in their app and scans your QR code. You confirm the selection and the data is transferred.

How to get your eAusweis (e-ID card)

An ID Austria with full functionality or an eIDAS-notified eID is required. It is also necessary for the required data to be available in Austrian records.
